slimdownjtMemberHow bad is Coke Zero from a dieting perspective?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, SlimDownJT. It depends. If you currently drink a few big gulps of regular cola each day, replacing it with Coke Zero (getting rid of all that sugar) can help. If this is not the case, the artificial sweeteners in it can work against your efforts here – they do some odd things to the body that have been linked to weight gain. If cola is something you really like, try to find some with Stevia and/or make your own with soda water, flavor extract (or squeezes of real lime or lemon if something like Sprite is OK) and a good natural sweetener (see our article/guide here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2/).

slimdownjtMemberThanks Ossie-Sharon – over the last couple of days I’ve been trying to drink much more water and much less Coke zero. I am not sure what it is about Coke zero that I like – the taste, the fizziness, or the caffeine. Water is okay but it doesn’t have quite the same effect. I think I read somewhere that green tea has caffeine but the body likes it more. I’m not normally a tea drinker but maybe I will try that in addition to the water.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, SlimDownJT. LOTS of people like it – that’s where the billion$ come from, and why I recommended a flavor extract (they are available through Amazon). Your efforts sound great, and again, if you make your own, it will count as water.
