MemberI had the same problem for the first couple of weeks, with me I think it was the increase in protein and the decrease in vegetables when I cooked a proper meal that is lol. Mind my stews used to have double the amount of veg I put in now, they were more like vegetable stew with a hint of meat.
This week I’ve upped my intake of vegetables having whatever is on menu and if it says 1 serving of vegetables I have a serving of something on the measured list plus a serving of one of the free veg. Not sure if this is strictly right but it’s sorted the toilet trouble out and I also don’t feel deprived anymore and I’ve still lost weight again this week.

MemberThat’s what has me puzzled… I eat sooo many vegetables. I love them. It definitely could be the up of intake of protein, grains and everything else. I was basically eating lots of vegetables and bread before I started this plan. Not very balanced at all trying to eat low calorie. This is definitely a different diet for my body.Maybe I’m not dinking enough water. I drink iced tea all day long so I thought that would be enough. I had gastric bypass 10 years ago and lost 105 lbs so I have trouble with quantities. I lost 6 family members this year and practically quit eating anything but vegetables and cookies. I’d take cookies to the hospital and drink a coke. Terrible I know… but I was surviving.Gained 60 lbs back and so sad about it! Gave up cokes about 4 months ago. Anyway I guess this healthy plan is more of a shock to my sytem than I thought. Thanks so much for answering and listening.hugs

MemberThanks, AnnaH.
Deborah, iced tea can actually be very drying to the system because it is a diuretic. If you can switch half over to water, or even week decaffeinated tea, that might help.October 5, 2013 at 8:33 am #15416Deborahjjhayes
MemberThanks Ossie, I did no know that!! Maybe if I drank a glass of water every other glass that would help???Thank you so much! I gave up coke and switched to tea. It’s really hard for me to get water down.. How do ya’ll feel about crystal light?

Memberthis is something I have dealt with all my life. What works for me is ground flax seed, blueberries, lots of water, herbal teas now and then, and I often start the day with juice of 1/2 lemon in warm water (8 oz). The flax seed doesn’t really change the flavor of your foods, I add to my breakfast, on anything, or to smoothies, the blueberries are treated lice precious little gems in my house because they are expensive. When they are in season, I buy tons of them and freeze them in the smallest snacksize zip lock bags. They make a nice snack, or when I am driving. Veggies raw or cooked, in salads, this is the stuff to add to every meal or snack when u can

MemberHi, Deborah. Crystal Light uses an artificial sweetener, so we don’t recommend it. A great substitute is to squeeze half a lemon into a glass of water and add a teaspoon or two of xylitol – it tastes the same but is WAY better for you and supports bowel health.
