I just started the program and my sugar is very high on it, following the menus. Can they be modified for a diabetic and work?
Hi, Harry. How is your current diet different from what you were doing before? Is there a certain time of day that your sugars are particularly high?
Without known more, the following modification may help: if your kidneys are in good shape, you can put in a protein or “good” fat exchange for one carb exchange at each meal. It is also recommended to get physical exercise, which is excellent for balancing blood sugar – at least 20 minutes of aerobic exercise each day (does not have to be very strenuous).
Thanks Ossie. My current diet has a lot more carbs. I do exercise. I will try to exchange the protein for the carbs and see what happens.
