MemberI’ve read all the information and I found it to be helpful but I do have a complaint. Why does all diets have to have unknown foods or yucky foods listed. I would like to find a diet that has regular food. I don’t have the time or income to prepare & shop for all different types of foods. I can’t use stevia or any sweetners as they tear my stomach up. And what is “raw milk”? Can anyone tell me how to eat healthy using normal food? I hate to admit it but I am a picky eater and I only like normal foods and ingredients. HELP!!!!

MemberYou CAN eat healthy “normal” food! I am not following the menus to the letter, but to the “spirit”, using the suggested substitutions and buying organic.
I am fortunate that I don’t need a HUGE variety of food. I’m happy to eat leftovers of stuff I love, the same breakfast at least 6 days straight, and a greens and veggies salad every day for lunch. I’m having fun experimenting with tasting some of the new “strange” foods I found in my health food store! Unfortunately, I have discovered Krunchie Veggies in a bag (they have quite a few flavors), and I have become instantly addicted…lol. One of my favorite healthy filleruppers is a nice Bloody Shame, hot or cold, before lunch. A Bloody Shame is organic tomato juice, a dash of Worcestershire Sauce, a dash of hot sauce, and a spritz of lemon.
Be sure to read posts by Ossie. She has it right. Read up on the different whole, good-fer-ya foods and eat a balance of them. Be sure to put a little color in your life: the more colorful you food, the healthier it is!
And do visit a health food store and ASK THEM LOTS OF QUESTIONS. My little store has the friendliest ladies who were so excited to hear about the Trim Down Club and guided me in my food choices. They are VERY knowledgeable, as are most health food store personnel.
The Newbies 2013 thread calls this the Love Boat Cruise! I call it an Adventure in Good Eating and Better Health! C’mon, give me you hand and hop on…..you can do it……and love it, too!

MemberThanks, camplaffalot!
CGoode, you absolutely can use regular foods – many do appear in the Menu Planner – as long as you try to go for unprocessed foods, you’re getting one of the major principles of the program.
As for sweeteners, what have you been using up to now? If it is regular sugar, perhaps you can try something a little easier on the system such as coconut sugar, and then gradually cut back so it doesn’t add up too much at the end of the day.
Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized – you can read about it here http://www.trimdownclub.com/all-about-raw-milk. It is generally not sold in regular stores, but is available from special sources (if you are interested, you can find yours here: http://www.realmilk.com/where.html). - AuthorPosts
