MemberHi, kansasgal. This program is whole foods-based and flexible, and can be either of those, or just a low-carbohydrate program.

MemberI have type 2 diabetes, so far not a problem with this diet except so much food and meals which are so frequent. I don’t seem to get any time to not think about food…since I am a 72 year old foodie, what should I do. I live alone with my dog Dixie who also likes to overeat, the vet is not happy. I live in a senior community and I help the older residents. I have had 3 back surgeries and many joint replacements. But overall I need to loose weight. Other than that, I am in fairly good health.

MemberHi, DixiesMom. Given your circumstances, you can reduce the food amounts. I recommend you cut back on starchy carbohydrates, such as bread and pretzels, and focus on protein foods, fruits, and vegetables. You can also try having just three major meals with the night snack each day – again, be sure not to miss out on any fruit and vegetable servings, and try to get in all the dairy.
