Tagged: Fruits, vegetables
I’ve been following the plan for several weeks now and am generally very pleased with one possible exception. I’ve never enjoyed eating a lot of fruit on a daily basis and am finding it hard to keep up with all of the meal plans per day. I know the idea is to have an overall, well-balanced diet but how can I eliminate a significant amount of the fruit? I would also like to reduce the overall count of sugar grams I consume daily. I select the low sugar option for the meal plans but still get a lot of fruit!
Hi, mppdx. First, rest assured that overall, the plan is quite low in carbohydrates (40-45% of calories compared to 50-65% for most people) and rather high in protein. Second, if you want less fruit, just swap some of it out for vegetables on your own (consider the fruit a placeholder in your menu). You will still get good antioxidants and fiber.
