I haven’t noticed any information on restaurant eating. Will be going on vacation soon and will be eating out most of the time. Any suggestions on meals and snacks?
Hi, LLB5. We actually have a guide for that, which also covers parties and other situations away from home or otherwise out of the ordinary – it is called “Staying Strong When the Routine is Gone”. Customer service can help you get hooked up (through the “Contact Us” link below). In the meantime, note the portion sizes in your menu here, and keep them in mind at a restaurant (you can always take the extras home in a doggy bag). The same goes for the principles of healthy food preparation, so you can order foods that are more consistent with those. Do try to avoid extras such as appetizers and alcohol (as well as sugary drinks), and try to split as many items as possible (especially dessert). You may also wish to try drinking a bowl of clear soup before heading out, and be sure to start the meal with a salad to get full fast.
