MemberWhat’s the take on Walden Farms Calorie free dressings and sauces? Are they ok to use?

MemberSorry another question, what is a “health bar”. It’s on my snacks.

MemberHi, 1slpers. Walden Farms products are fine in small amounts such as a couple of tablespoons total per day. Some of their products contain artificial ingredients, such as the sweetener sucralose, which can work against your efforts in large amounts. A better brand for sauces is “Simple Girl” (https://www.simplegirl.com/), which uses Stevia instead of Sucralose.
A health bar is a snack bar based on whole foods, such as Lara Bar or Pure Bar. You can tell by this sample ingredients list the type of item we encourage:

MemberIs there a ratio that I can understand as to what equals a carb or a protein. I’m having difficulty understanding how to simplify my menu. I can’t find the “home” area where my login name is to simplify my meals, I’m very basic. So I just want to better understand the carb cycling. The ratio of fats, protein, and carbs I should have in a meal/ day to increase metabolism?

MemberHi, Kmcmasters. The ratio we recommend is 3 grams of carbohydrate for each gram of protein and gram of fat. To simplify your menu, you just click on the edit tool in the meal header, then make your selections from the searchable master list. You will be guided by your meal pattern, which has been calculated to meet your needs and goals. If you’re interested in knowing the nutritional value of the exchanges, they are here:
1 carbohydrate exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat - AuthorPosts
