Tagged: shrimp
Hi – I noticed that the exchange listed on my menu for 7.5 oz of shrimp is 5 proteins. However, on the master list of exchanges, 1 oz of shrimp is 1 protein exchange. If that is the case, shouldn’t 7.5 oz of shrimp be 7.5 proteins?
If the exchange for 1 oz of shrimp is really less than 1 protein, does that hold true for other seafood as well? (I haven’t taken the time to research this by comparing other seafood items on your website).
Hi, YT2252. The menu is the most updated, and yes, it is true for other “non-fatty” seafood that has a lot of shrinkage during cooking.
