JuanieMemberWhy is it that, I do not have a choice of all the foods that I have selected in creating my menu? I have been wanting to eat beans with rice and my list of bean selections have not been available to place on my menu.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, you two. Tech development is addressing this to see why this isn’t working for you. In the meantime, please do take advantage of our meal swap function (the arrow icon at the top right corner of each meal) to build a meal with the combinations you seek.

bd2486MemberWould like to know whether the different categories within a catagory can be exchanged. An example would be dairy with low fat, high fat, low carb, high carb. So could you exchange plain yogurt with cottage cheese for instance?

bd2486MemberWhy are beans never on my menu?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, bd2486. You got the exchange thing down! These lists can be a big help: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.
As for the beans issue, I will look into that further and get back to you.February 7, 2015 at 12:50 pm #26805
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, bd2486. If you want beans on your menu, I suggest you create a set of menus through the vegetarian option, and trade back and forth on the days you want to follow, so that you do have your bean-based meals.

carole16MemberI’m still a carnivore but enjoy veggie only days. My favorite ‘beans’ are black beans. I would like to see recipes & options including black beans.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, carole16. In the Recipes section (link above), type “black bean” or “black beans” in the search box toward the middle of the page (on the right side), and it will pull up all recipes that contain them.

bd2486MemberAre freeze dried fruits an acceptable exchange for fresh fruit? I’ve found Nature’s all organic – raw, vegan, gluten free. Pkg. says .35 oz has 35 cal, 9g carb, 4g sugar.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, bd2486. To some extent yes, but do be sure to drink water with it. Note that 0.58 oz would be a fruit serving.

paulineparkMemberHi Ossie Sharon
as I cant eat salad without mayonnaise is it okay if I mix half mayo with half non fat yoghurt or will this course weight gain this way I can eat lots of salad
thanks a lot PaulineFebruary 8, 2015 at 11:37 pm #26857
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Pauline. That’s a great idea, just be sure to count that combination in your daily intake. I would suggest 2 parts or more yogurt to 1 part mayonnaise – that way a full tablespoon would be a fat exchange. If you dilute it with lemon juice and/or vinegar, you can stretch it out even more.
