MemberHi,
Im new to this program and noticed that the meals are very complex. Usually for lunch I just have a yogurt and maybe some pretzels or something but in these menus it has like four different thing I would have to cook for one meal and only about a cup of each one. This is a little too much work for me because I am very busy and must prepair my meals the night before. Is there any way you could help with this?May 5, 2013 at 2:14 am #11484Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, ilanarose, and welcome. Part of what this program promotes is complete nutrition. The combination of pretzels and yogurt can make a great snack (with good pretzels), but lunch is considered here a time to get a very balanced meal, with more protein as well as vegetables.
On the other hand, indeed the meals with 5 items can may seem like a lot to focus on, and they absolutely can be consolidated to 3. Following a pattern of protein, carbohydrate, and vegetable/fruit, you can combine multiple sources, choosing just one. For example, if you are given a slice of bread and half a cup of rice, you can choose instead two slices of bread or a full cup of rice; if you are given an ounce of cheese and ounce of tuna, you can have two ounces of just one of those instead. I hope this helps.May 5, 2013 at 3:21 am #11487ilanarose

MemberHi everyone, I too am new to this site, only starting today. I was amazed at the amount of food that was given to me to eat. I know it was all clean, fresh and not processed, I did get through it though. Like everyone else I have tried so many different diet plans, I work out everyday for an hour, be it at the gym, pilates, yoga, dvd, walking or bike riding, but cannot shift the weight I gained on a certain medication. I have 30 kilos to lose (Aussie measurements), I was constantly told I didn’t eat enough food to burn with the amount of training I do, well I can see this is definetely going to be the way to go for me. Good luck to us all. Lets keep each other motivated and support each other on good days and maybe not so good days.

MemberHi, I’m new to this program. I’ve had much success with Body For Life in years past, which I find this similar too. My only concern is these portion sizes. I have luck on “mini meals” or 6 times daily when I eat portion of carb and portion of protein no bigger than the size of my palms. I’m a petite 5’4″. Should I be cutting these larger portions in half but use the same ratio? 1 cup=1/2 cup, 2 oz=1 oz, etc. for all the items within the certain meal? I love the food combinations!

MemberHi, hotspotspeed. The portions you get in your daily menus have already been calculated according to your weight and height (and gender). The intention is for you to eat all of it, to keep your metabolism up and prevent hunger. If you find it is not working for you, repost here, and we can work through it.
