Hi I am finding this confusing, as I’ m English and am not familiar with cups, or names of some foods and ingredients. Disappointing.

Hi, Jugay, and welcome. Do take advantage of the function in the Menu Planner application that enables you to see and receive metric units (change from “oz” to “gr” at the far left side of the dark blue toolbar just above the finished menu). With regard to the ingredients, they are somewhat less known because they are less mass-produced, which is their advantage (they are less manipulated and so more nutritious and supportive of healthy weight maintenance). The following is a guide on where to find these foods in the UK http://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-uk. One of the sites, http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk, gives brief descriptions of the items.

I would like to know what Seitan is. I see it when I substitute. Never heard of it. Is it a vegan food?

Hi, Blueberry62. Seitan is pure gluten, and yes, it is used as a vegan meat substitute.

How do I add new food to the list? I enjoy white mulberries and turkey bacon.

Hi, zilsil. Turkey bacon is in the lists in the protein category. As for mulberries, we may add it to the next food list upgrade. In the meantime, you can swap in another type of berry.

Help ! Im a newbie and am confused – I didn’t see any kind of meat
choices and my menu lists Fast Food Chef Salad but I cannt find it in the recipe section. Is this like a Side Tossed Salad at Wendys?
I enjoy turkey, chicken etc – Do I ever get to eat them again? I’d like to lose 100 lbs.

Hi, Claudia, and welcome! Meats are under Proteins – click on the button near the top of the Menu Planner page.
The Fast Food Chefs Salad is not a recipe, but rather exactly what you thought – Wendy’s is one example.

I’m wondering if it’s alright to use cornstarch to thicken homemade gravy. The gravy is made with chicken stock.

    Hi, Blueberry. Sounds just fine.
