MemberI haven’t been doing too well. I am not good at following meal plans. We can’t get grass fed beef where I am. I am mainly trying to cut back on my portions and eat vegetables and fruit with protein. We have been working 12 hour days for 7 days in a row so I am tired and afraid I have been eaing whatever was available. Monday I started cutting back on my starchy carbs. Hoping that they will get the nutrient portion of this program going that tells you how much protein, fat, and carb per meal and snack daily.

Memberhey savedbygrace be confident and don’t lose hope this is a lifetime change so there is no timeline right! It’s much like our faith. We don’t pray and worship for a short time we do this every day for the rest of our lives!
I too work 12 hour days just not 7 in a row…… but I take the time to prepare good healthy snacks that allow me to munch all day long. Mine snacks consist of cut up apples and celery stalks and carrots. Almonds, raisins and dates and especially cheese. Cheese goes so well with apples and has become my new candy!
Don’t be so consumed with eating these new foods but eat what you like and reduce portions! In Christ

Memberhey Yvonne glad to see you here and welcome! Let us all not forget that we must excercise or in other words burn calories! My method of calorie burning is brisk walking for about 30 – 40 mins a day. What a beuatiful way to take in God’s splendour and thank him for His gift of life to us!

Memberto the kid;
Thank you. I have been trying to really cut back on my carbs because my sugar is running high. I have gone back to better portion control. God is my refuge and strenth and without Him I could not do this at all. Taking one day at a time. Am a little concerned because my sugar has not consistently run this high and my blood pressure is up but have been under stress and not sleeping good even with my CPAP. I appreciate your words they gave me a boost this morning.March 16, 2013 at 3:28 pm #10085Nikki0630
MemberHey Yall!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 24 years old, and I currently live in Texas where my husband is stationed with the Army. We are both from California so it has been an adjustment, but we are fitting in nicely (except for the lack of a Whole Foods store or a Trader Joes)
I have always struggled with weight. I have never been significantly overweight, but have never been as fit and healthy as i wanted to be. Not to get too personal, but i feel like it helps to get this out…I have struggled with an eating disorder on and off for years. In preperation for my wedding last year i was stuggling more than ever before. I lost a lot of weight, but had some good sisters in faith encourage me to get help before i made any real damage. However, since i have moved away and am now living with my husband i have been bouncing between not eating enough and eating way too much. I have gained back all the weight i lost and then some, but in the midst of it all it seems like i have forgotten how to just eat normally. So through this program i am hoping to learn how to just eat again. No more binging and starving. I want to find that balance that i knew once upon a time when i did eat very healthy and didnt obsess so much over food and weight.
I have let food and weight become an idol that i am ready to crush and let God help me this time. I never prayed for help losing weight before because in the back of my mind i knew i was doing it the wrong way and damaging his temple in me, so i am hoping htis program and fellow Christains’ support this time it will be heatlthy and successful. Anyway, hello everyone and i’m excited to start this new chapeter of my life.March 18, 2013 at 12:46 pm #10150thekid
MemberNikki welcome! I have never had an eating disorder so I can’t relate but I have struggled and like you my brothers and sisters in faith have helped me through and continue to help me through. You have moved away but you have friends in Christ online that will help you.
I’m so glad to see you are ready to start a new chapter. Do not look back there is only today! Tommorow may not come and yesterday is gone! One day at a time by the Grace of God!
We are here for you sister and I will pray today for you. I have stated this before and will again that this is not a race nor a diet it is a lifestyle change. You need 4 things here to succeed!
1. God – call on the name of Jesus when you are struggling and the Holy Spirit will give you strength. ” they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.. they will soar as with eagle’s wings”
2. Friends – trim down has many here that will help encourage you.
3. Proper eating habits and food selection as provided by Trim Down. There is more than enough articles and help here.
4. Excercise – weight loss comes from eating proper foods and enhanced with physical activity that will burn those calories you have consumed.
I am not an expert. I do not work for Trim Down nor am I paid to endorse them. I am a brother in Christ that will walk with you and you with me as others have.
Believe in yourself Nikki and when you doubt trust in the Lord.In Christ Chris

MemberHi Fellow Trim Down Members,
I started this yesterday – did great while at work, but then ate some left over meatloaf when I got home at about 1130pm (and by “some” I mean the rest of the meatloaf)! I have been a yo-yo dieter all my adult life and struggle with my self image on a constant basis. Recently, I have realized that I am allowing my stomach to be my God!!!!!! I am surrendering this to my true one and only saviour – Jesus Christ! While I still fail on a daily basis – his grace is true and his forgiveness is priceless! I am so thankful for fellow christians that can keep me in their prayers. With the grace of God – I will take control of this area of my life instead of allowing it to control me!!!!!!March 23, 2013 at 12:38 pm #10300thekid
MemberAtagirl Lynne! Prayers are with you and welcome.

MemberHi Chris. I joined Trim Down about a week ago. Just found this forum, read the most currant conversations and was wondering what type of church u go to. I am a bornagain believer, and am confused by you saying u would say your rosary for Kathy (pasjj5). I am not predjudus (spelling). Please, I hope u won’t be offended by my question. Your response to each of the texts is wonderful and very uplifting. I know what u have said is right on with the scriptures. I am wondering if u r a pastor?
In Christ,

MemberI would also like to join Friends in the Faith. Tea and prayers in the morning are a better way to start the day off uplifted than coffee with the news. I drink Cho Wa, an herb tea. The name means harmony but Echinacea, Spearmint or any caffeine free tea would work.
