I was wondering if the Dole Fruit Cups would be a good fruit exchange? What should I look for to make sure they are good for a fruit serving? I like taking them to work, but want to make sure they are good for my eating plan.
Hi, ChuckyDave. If there is no sugar added, and you get a full cup of actual fruit (drained), then yes, it is a fruit exchange. Fresh is generally preferred – especially if it is local – but frozen or canned in juice (again, without added sugar, preferably without preservatives) is also fine.
