Tagged: Bitter taste in mouth
I have been on the 21 day menu for 3 weeks, loosing weight, but I have recently developed a bitter taste in my mouth when I eat, especially when I have fruit or juice. I have been having a lot of nuts for the nearly every snack meal. Is there a connection? Have I been eating too much zinc or something?
Hi, Vanessa. Actually, a bitter taste is more often caused by a lack of zinc rather than too much. Nuts may indeed cause this – especially pine nuts – and it is not necessarily a sign of anything major. If you don’t have any reflux/heartburn and don’t suspect an allergy and you keep your teeth and tongue brushed as normal – it is probably nothing serious.
