MemberI notice that when I generate a menu and it has goat cheese (soft) the quantity is 1/2 cup. Since 1/2 cup is 4 oz and one oz of this type of goat cheese is 70ish calories, are we really supposed to consume 280 calories of goat cheese?

Member1/2 cup or 1/2 oz? Sorry for the double-check request, but the planner should only be giving you ounces of that cheese. If you did get 1/2 cup, my next question would be – is that your only major protein source for the meal?

MemberIt does say 1/2 CUP not ounce. It is the only source of protein besides 2 slices of SWG bread. I can substitute 1 egg which would be about 90 calories so I am thinking that it should be 1/2 oz?

MemberHi, OneSusie. If that is your only source of protein at a main meal, than it is acceptable (note that a meat dish might be a similar number of calories with all the seasonings). It is not unusual in an Italian restaurant to receive a 1/2-cup ball of goat cheese on top of a salad. Your idea of swapping out an ounce with an egg is great, though.
The fact that you got such a large portion of cheese might suggest that you need to select more protein items in the menu planner (?) - AuthorPosts
