Tagged: Hair loss
I am currently, at age 60, losing my hair. Whenever I wash it, I retrieve a quarter sized diameter of hair strands. This has been going on for almost one year. I can see bald spots on my head.
I’m wondering if nutrition could be related to that.
Hi, operagirl. Indeed, some nutrient insufficiencies have been linked to hair loss. The most common of these include zinc, iodine, and omega-3 fatty acids. However, it is recommended to have the issue evaluated by health care professionals – everyone is different, and it is best to try to find the root cause, if possible. If not, then nutrition is something you can work with yourself.
