sagie50Memberhow can I introduce “half spoon sugar” into my diet?? I can’t stand sweetener, so there is no point using it as i will just resort to sugar later . this sugar is very low in calories and suits me just fine. please advise?? julie

DeborahjjhayesMemberRefined sugar is a no-no on this plan and will work against your goals. If you absolutely cannot stand Stevia, use 1/2 tsp of raw sugar or natural sugars such as demarara, or sucanat or honey.but you’ll have to count it a carb.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Sagie, and thanks, Debbie. The additional concern with Half Spoon Sugar is that the non-sugar ingredient is aspartame, which is the type of artificial sweetener that may work against your efforts here. If you don’t like the usual non-caloric sweeteners, perhaps try something in the middle, such as xylitol (e.g., http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xylitol-Natural-Sweetener-1Kg/dp/B003VJQNWG, among others), natural low-fructose fruit extracts such as Sweet Freedom (http://www.sweetfreedom.co.uk/index.php/sweet-freedom-original), or inulin as found in yacon syrup (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dgrocery&field-keywords=pure+yacon+syrup+8oz&rh=n%3A340834031%2Ck%3Apure+yacon+syrup+8oz).
