MemberHi, I just joined trim down club because I want to maintain good heath and fittness. Here is my question… I’m in pretty good shape and am for the most part heathly, however, I get headaches all the time, especially after eating sugary foods (candy, desserts etc…) or drinking alcohol. My doc says to cut out caffeine, which I did and it helped somewhat. I also stopped eating foods high in sugar, but I still would like to enjoy an occasional glass of wine or a cocktail, its a real problem and is cramping my style. I can’t even have a drink with friends without getting a headache most of the time. Whats up??? please help. Scott

MemberHi, Sleetch. You may be extra-sensitive to chemicals in alcoholic beverages that manipulate the blood vessels in the brain, causing pain. There is no known “cure” other than abstaining (“virgin” drinks), or drinking the smallest amount of alcohol possible.

MemberI get headaches easily from allergies to a number of things. Red wine has something in it that causes headaches that white wine does not have. Chocolate gives me headaches as well. Strangely, I think they are related to constipation and if I eat prunes with the chocolate it helps.

MemberHi Sleetch. You can buy organic wine which may help with your headaches. It did for me.
