MemberWhy is heavy cream healthier to use than milk? Isn’t it more fattening>? It doesn’t make sense but I’m sure there is a good reason.

MemberHi, npm72851. Heavy cream isn’t necessarily healthier, but differing production methods may inadvertently cause these two to trade places on the quality scale. For example, if the heavy cream is made from a cow that is organically pastured (meaning she eats grasses, worms, and other foods that are natural to her, and she does not receive hormone injections or unnecessary antibiotics) and milk is not (and worse yet, has added to it milk solids that are often oxidized and very unhealthy), the scales are tipped in the cream’s favor. Context is also important – some medical conditions necessitate higher fat items. Otherwise, the milk is generally considered a better choice for healthy weight loss and maintenance.

MemberThank you for explaining it. So, if I buy low fat organic milk, it is better then heavy organic cream because it is lower in calories. right?

MemberHi, npm. For many people, this would indeed be the case – so you can fit in other foods if you want more volume.
