I have been a yo-yo for years. I have reached my weight and health goals a number of times but fell back into old habits this past year. Life was a roller coaster and I did not deal with the stress well at all. We have a new teenager, new jobs, new home, and list continues. No more excuses, I need to take care of myself in order to be a positive influence on my self and my family. I have tried the Weight Watchers forums and have not been successful. I am not sure why…perhaps I just need a new venue. I am ready to focus on lifestyle changes not dieting. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I look forward to supporting online friends and hopefully receiving some positive and uplifting conversation and reflection. Thank you for listening.

I guess I should have checked my title before posting.:-)
It should read I am ready to start again. I would have edited but I couldn’t figure out how. Is there a way to edit our posts?

Hi, Angela and Lilet. Backtracking is normal in life and can guide you when you’re getting back in the swing of things – sometimes it helps to think what about the healthy eating pattern was not sustainable during times of illness or stress, and work around it. Sometimes it means loosening up the rules just a little so you don’t completely give them up, or reminding yourself that a diet needs to be based on foods you like, and when you are under pressure, it needs to fit into your lifestyle. Perhaps try also to remember that as difficult as the stress or acute illness may be, it can be even more challenging if your basic health is not in order.

    Lilet,
The fact that you are starting is all that matters. It does not matter your pace. I just got done with the a moderate walk and really feel it. It is a little frustrating because this would have been a breeze this time last year. I am choosing to move forward to learn from the past.

Like you Angela I’ve yo-yo for years, I have been dieting for just under ten years, found trim-down today. Any guidance will be very welcomed. P

Hi, martin123, and welcome! Before others chime in, I just want to assure you that the major goal of the Trim Down Club is to stop the yo-yoing. It may take some patience, but still much less time than it took to build up the problem, and you will be healthier on the other end. Best of luck to you 🙂

The season is making getting focused a bit easier. It is hot and food is certainly the top of my list. I made a huge container of peppermint green tea and am eating fresh fruit, veggies, lean organic protein. Of course, I still am getting craving s for the snack foods but am reaching for popcorn and veggies crisps. My sweet tooth is being satisfied by fresh frozen fruit bars -no added sugar and while fruit.

I have also started swimming at nine every morning for at least a half an hour, 44 laps this am. 🙂 I must admit the exercise is helping my attitude vastly. I hope others out there use this lovely summer to get a jump start on a healthy lifestyle. I happy to support any one on this venue. Have a super day. Good by yo yo dieting- hello long term change.
