MemberHi, I am new to this and have been trying to lose weight for a month now. While I have cut down on all my food, hardly eating any carbs, I am eating zero processed foods and eating more fruit and veg I am barely losing any weight. I have been exercising and going on daily walks even managing to climb mount Snowden last week. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone have any tips for me? Thanks

MemberHi, Colin. I’m glad to read that you’ve been active.
There are a couple of possibilities.
1. If your activity is relatively new, you could be trading fat for muscle, which is heavier. At this early stage, it may be more accurate to gauge your progress by how you’re looking and feeling and how your clothes are fitting, rather than the number on the scale.
2. If you have been exercising the same way for a while, your muscles may be complacent and not burning energy maximally. I suggest to try introducing new muscle groups, as well as strength or resistance training (such as push-ups, planks, or lifting weights – which don’t have to be major weights, of course) and adding brief bursts of energy into your regime – e.g., jogging for 30 seconds every 5 minutes during a walk.Another option is to adjust your food intake. I noticed that your current weight puts you on the border between two menu patters. If you change your current weight to “222” lbs, you will get a little less food.
