I just signed up and plan on following this diet after the New Year. I’ve got to start grocery shopping a whole different way. Hope I can stick to it.

I just joined this program too. I’m off to the supermarket to get loads of fresh veggies and lean meats. Best of luck to all.

I, too, just joined and was disappointed in the recipes and their quantities. I immediately switched to using the menu planner as a guide only.

Hello all. I just joined this program yesterday and I am very hopeful about my success. I know my biggest struggle will be eating more then I normally do because I really am a under-eater. Looking at me you would think I was an over-eater but that is not the case. I also lack in being physically active but that is changing because of a new motivation that is in my life. I am determined to make this work one day at a time and Pray for you all and your success as well as my own.

Hi Songbird & welcome. I am new to the program too and am also an under-eater. I’ve been in a constant state of “starvation” as the paperwork says for years. I usually eat one meal a day soooo this is my challenge too. I’m sure that I will fluctuate on the scale so I’m not going to check until a week goes by. I have found that the addition of small, healthful, frequent food has given me a good amount of energy and I have been able to get off my backside & walk a couple miles in the morning. With Prayer all things are possible & I am with you, relying on that. Hang in there. Patty

Hi, i just joined this group and hope to reduce.. I haven’t checked the recipes yet but the ingredients and product knowledge given is quite useful and accurate. I can say its good and accurate as my mom is a naturopathy doctor and I have heard such things from her though couldn’t follow that much… The only thing I m worried about is to find these ingredients in grocery stores available may be “Sprouts can help”
In the series of comments someone said that she s diabetic and worried about fruits… my advice don’t intake much of fruits in that case and follow the rest of the diet plan… replace fruits with more of vegetables and salads.
Best f Luck to me and all!!!

I don’t think this is going to work for me, being British and working fulltime I need to have ingredients that are easily available and also need the recipes in UK measurements. I want to go on the diet but haven’t got the time to work it out. Sorry

A significant part of the program is introducing people to new and better foods, to cut back on the processed and disadvantageous items increasingly filling most grocery stores. The new items in the Menu Planner and recipes have been shown to be most beneficial for metabolism and general health. They are carried in health-oriented grocery stores, such as Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and online (below are links for the UK).
When you get your menu output, note that you can swap out foods from the same group – just click on the icon next to it. You can also make your own swaps by noting the other foods listed in the same category.
    Key US to UK measurements are as follows: 1 lb = 454 grams, 1 ounce (oz) = 28.35 grams, 1 cup = 240 ml, 1 Tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml.

Hello, all! I just want to encourage you in your quest. I joined Trim Down a little less than a month ago. Yes, it is a lot of work to chop up those veggies and to try to make new recipes, but so far — for me, it is worth it! In 3 weeks, I have lost 8 lbs (which took me a year with a no-starch diet this past year!) I am full and don’t feel deprived. I am sold so far!! May I encourage you to read everything you can that they provide in the program … including the posts others make. It will answer many of your questions. AND Ossie is so good about answering specific questions directly to you! (on this site, of course — not via email) Also, the tech team is on the ball and helps too! Keep at it! Don’t get discouraged and quit! We can do this! 🙂

Hi, I started the group just before Christmas. Have not done much yet; however, I’ve been reading all I can read. Have checked the grocery store out and found many items I’ve never seen before. I even purchased many. I have had bariatric surgery and am beginning to gain my weight back. I’m desperate to stop this trend and get about 30 pounds off immediately. I’m dealing with sugar highs and lows. I’m out of control. Any suggestions?

Thank you Ossie – the links are good & just what I needed. Might be good to post your list on the comments section for UK members.

I too have just joined from the UK and I work full time and live alone- I am not sure that some of the meal suggestions are practical – in a time or economic sense – I was hoping for something more practical for people with busy lives- i am up a 5 am to go to work with a 90 minute commute each way. I’m a bit disappointed by what I have seen. I think I will get some extra advice and just use it as a rough gide.
