MemberHi, and welcome. It may be easiest if you skip the recipes and choose ready-made or quick type foods from the Menu Planner.

MemberThanks Ossie for the advice- it would be helpful if there was a busy person menu list as well as the I feel lucky choice menu. I can certainly take the principles on board – eating hot porridge from my staff canteen when i get to work, adding in the snacks , having some homemade soups for when i get back home and focusing on balancing proteins and carbs through my busy day.

Membergot one question- is there any guidance about when to eat. I get up very early and don’t feel like eating at 5am , so i have breakfast at work at 7.30. in the evening I usually have my main meal no later than 7 because i go to bed at 9 ( boring but true). Ossie any advice

ParticipantHave to agree with Janet 649. Way too much preparation time and expensive to keep up. Started this a couple of months ago and can’t afford it anymore. If nothing else though I’m drinking green tea (with lemon) and eating sprouted bread and generally watching my intake. Good luck to those who have the time and cash to keep it up!

MemberWhat other options are there in the US apart from whole foods, which as everyone knows is very expensive. Is Trader Joes, Mariano’s, and I can’t remember what the other store is called. also fruitful yield, is that ok?

MemberSomewhere I thought I read that a shopping list is generated from your menu. Does anyone know if that is true?

Memberi joined yesterday and i can already tell that the products they invite you to use are very expensive but i read all the recepies and in the menu planner all you need to do is choose from the most healthy kinds of foods things that you know u can afford for instance i chose 100% whole grain brad and rye bread instead of the pretty light blue choices and so on of course organic meats and poultry are very expensive but ohh well i guess i will juts cheat in that part and get regular but lean cuts of fresh meats and poultry as for the rest they have plenty of options of things you can buy. 🙂

MemberJoined yesterday and got my menu planned….this is going to be hard to follow…..half a cup of shredded wheat with no milk for a snack. Im usually very good and focused at following menus but this is a bit all over the place!!!

MemberHi, Lesley. Those times are a good start. Hopefully you have a few other meals in-between.

MemberHi, Anne Horan – please do feel free to add organic skim or non-dairy milk to the cereal; in the future, you can select “cereal with milk” in the Menu Planner.

MemberHi, MarMor. A shopping list generator is in the works.

MemberHi, KatyQuin. Those other stores (i.e. Trader Joe’s) are excellent. Any health-oriented store is fine if it has the foods at a price that enables you to continue to purchase them.

MemberI started 5 days ago after spending a couple of days digesting the information. I have always eaten healthy foods — lots of fruits and veggies. So I was a bit skeptical if this would make a difference. I don’t like sweets either. My first experiment was the butternut broccoli muffins. They are so so and I need to try the recipe again. I like the idea. It wasn’t too hard to find the breads and I find them filling and tasty. A first I thought things were pretty pricey but I now find that they go a long way. Best of all I am losing some weight and I don’t feel hungry or bored with my food. I have plenty of energy for exercising at the gym and walking. So I am sticking with it. I want to check my results after the one week mark… Just a few days away.

MemberIt would be helpful if the calorie value of recipes and food items was included. It would help as I try to also work with My Fitness Pal App, etc. Also I am very new but I am disappointed that I cannot use this with my iPad. As a result I am moving back and forth between computer and iPad. Is there a plan for an iPad application? Also is here a place to record what you actually ate from the generated menu? Thanks.
