KeymasterHi Jbm1855,
Welcome 🙂
The Trim Down Club program is low-carb. About 40-45% of calories come from carbohydrates, where the recommendation for diabetics is less than 50%, and the usual diet is up to 65%. Our carb exchanges are calculated according to American Diabetes Association exchanges, and we encourage very high fiber intake and only the best types of fats for diabetics. Of course, recommended exercise fits all physical situations and schedules. This program definitely suits your needs.
Please do feel free to enter your specific dietary needs in your profile this way you get a meal plan that fits you!

Memberjbm1855: Welcome! I too am diabetic. Once I in put my favorite foods, chose a diabetic meal plan, the Trim Down Club system worked out a very good 8 week menu plan (week by week) for me. All food portions are within diabetic acceptable ranges. I do find that there is a LOT of food and sometimes have to ‘drink’ my snacks, instead of ingesting foods. e.g. I make up healthy shakes and smoothies. Easier to digest after a big breakfast, lunch or dinner. Yet they have all the portions/ingredients required to substitute for a given snack.

Memberjbm1855: as for adjustments to the daily/weekly menu plans; if a plan calls for let’s say tuna, and I don’t have any on hand, I’ll substitute sardines (always have cans of sardines and kippered snacks on hand – love them). Or, if it says a serving of sweet potato and I don’t have either sweet potatoes nor white potatoes, I’ll substitute the same portion of corn. Daily menus are not set in stone. The important fact is,if and when we need to substitute we follow the exact AMOUNTS specified. It is just as important to eat the correct amount of Grains, Dairy, Protein, Fruit, Vegetables etc. at those times notated on the menus, but it is most important to stick to the right quantity of them.
