Ossie, I have several people in my group, successful Beginnings and support that have IBS. How can they adjust the menu planner in order to help with this problem.?
Bless you!
Hi, Debbie, hope you’re well. Thanks for being such a go-to person for support 🙂
The Menu Planner is just for people like that – they can choose what to avoid, and the healthy foods in light blue are those considered healthy to the colon. The disorder is very individual in terms of tolerances, and trial-and-error is often the path to happiness here (sorry).
Having said that, I’ll just review items that have helped most people in research and in my practice:
Omega-3 fats
Probiotics (using simethicone if it makes anyone gassy)
Avoiding fried foods, non-sprouted beans, cabbage and other gas-inducing foods.
Using turmeric with small amounts of black pepper
Fiber from non-gluten sources, such as quinoa, millet, buckwheat.
