ParticipantHello All!
My name is Susan and I just signed up to do this program. My husband is doing it with me. Was wondering if there is a place to create a custom menu. We are pretty routine for breakfast (cottage cheese, fruit, granola) and lunch (soups, salad, or lean meat sandwiches), it is the dinners and snacks that I would like some variety. Also, is there a place to put favorite recipes so that I can view them with my iPhone when shopping instead of printing up recipe? I am a bit overwhelmed, but really want to make this work!
Thanks!September 21, 2012 at 8:45 pm #2066Maria Connie
ParticipantHi, I am new to the program as well. You have a great question and I am looking forward to your answer. I like to do simple foods that are quick, easy, good for my budget as well as my blood sugar. Good Luck 🙂

MemberHi, Susan and welcome to you and your husband. Our team is considering a smart phone interface, so stay tuned there.
Regarding the custom menu – have you tried the Menu Planner? Please let us know if it does not suit your needs.
As for the recipe “box” idea – super idea. I will ask our technicians.
Maria, we are working on a collection of quick-and-easy recipes.
Thanks for the great feedback.September 22, 2012 at 2:24 pm #2072Ncr24503

ParticipantHi my name is Dee and I just started. I’ve been on Nurtisystems but the food was totally nasty and way over processed. I’m hoping this food tastes better. So far, I like the SWG Bread that I got at the co-op. I want to try the other stuff, but I can’t afford to jump in with the total diet stuff right now. I will make little changes to our diet.
Hello to everyone.

MemberWelcome, Dee! Gradually sliding into a new lifestyle is often the key to long-term success. We hope you find you can build a healthy menu according to your needs, and can grow with the program. If you have any questions, this is the place.

ParticipantThank you, I really believe that getting away from this mega-processed American diet is healthy and I like that this seems to be a gluten-free life style also. I’ve long believed that wheat may be the enemy.

ParticipantHello evryone!,
I just signed up for this and am a little overwhelmed by all of this information. I am ready to eat better but just don’t know how to get started. How has this site helped you? I”d love to hear any tips on getting startedSeptember 23, 2012 at 1:17 am #2080deedodge
ParticipantCool, me too. I really don’t know how to get started either, but I went and visited a Food Co-op and bought some of the bread and oats, I spoke with one of the workers and got advice on making granola instead of buying the really expensive stuff. I’m just starting by trying to eat more healthy and cutting the processed stuff from my diet. As I’m able to purchase more of the ideal foods, I will start using the recipes and learning which I like and don’t. Eventually, I hope to use the meal plans as stated in order to really lose weight. Hope this helps you. I’m still learning. Dee

ParticipantI’m just starting too. I’m wondering if SKIM PLUS is okay to use?
Also I know sugar is a no-no, but I can’t drink my morning coffee without it. Could I get away with 1-2 packets of Sugar in the Raw, or am I setting myself up for entering the fat storing mode?
Thanks.

ParticipantHello, i just signed up tonight, but am also overwhelmed by the menus that came up for me. I understand you want us to try different foods we may not have, but it would be good if you could include some “regular” menus that most of us can relate to while we slowly try other foods. It’s a little discouraging when you’re just starting out. I was also confused about whether all the foods listed in my daily menus is what I’m supposed to be eating for that meal (ie, for breakfast it lists 4-5 different things), some of the recipes didn’t sound like they go together very well, and/or sounds like a lot of food. Lastly, I tried to download the MP3 program I purchased onto my IPad, but it doesn’t work on “safari” – is there something else I can do to get them on my IPad?

ParticipantThanks for everyone’s input. I just signed up today & was clicking on the dishes a few minutes ago. Some items I’d heard of, others were foreign to me & wonder where to buy them. Yet I heard one of you note a food co-op & so I can google one to find it. Another thing I tried today was green tea. I’ve tried it both hot & iced. Given the benefits, heck, it’s worth a try:)
