KeymasterFeatures are being added to the Menu Planner that I think will meet your exact needs here. In addition, more recipes are on the way, as are more articles and updates, and a feature that will enable one-on-one personlized attention for your program needs. Stay tuned…

ParticipantI just started the diet this morning, but I have been (as my husband says) “Trolling” the boards for a couple of days to get ideas and answers to questions. I just have a question, or two well..maybe 3.
We have been eating the Egg Beaters in everything because of my husbands cholesterol, but the recipes and the menus says omega 3 eggs. My question is, Are the Egg Beaters the wrong thing to eat?
Also Smart Balance Oil, again for the cholesterol, is wrong too? Olive Oil is preferred from what the book said. We use the Smart Balance with Olive Oil. I think that is okay from what I have been reading in the books, but could be wrong.
And last one, Stevia, the recipes call for it but the books says to stay away from artificial sweeteners, and Wiki did say “As a sweetener and sugar substitute”. I wanted to double check before I get my body to like it and get away from Truvia.Thank you for all your answers in advance.

MemberEgg Beaters, Smart Balance oil, and Stevia/Truvia are fine. Stevia is considered a natural non-caloric sweetener.

MemberIf special foods are not readily available to you, not to worry. Just note from which food group they are, and substitute with other foods in the same group.
The most important thing above all: AVOID PROCESSED FOODS. Focus on natural, fresh, “clean” foods without chemical additives.
We appreciate any and all comments regarding the program, and are forwarding all of them to our technicians to make sure it suits everyone’s needs.August 23, 2012 at 10:05 pm #1610lorri
ParticipantI am so saddened by how many members are finding this program a waste of time and money … I absolutely love TDC.
I think the most important thing is to be flexible … remember it is our poor habits that got us into our personal predicament in the first place, and you know what they say … if you throw the same solution at the same problem, you get the same result.
One common complaint seems to have to do with food choices … I don’t get that … the menu planner is personalized … you only choose the foods that you WANT TO EAT OR EXPERIMENT WITH … if you don’t like something, or can’t afford it, or don’t know where to buy it, or don’t know what it is and don’t want to know what it is, THEN DON’T SELECT IT AS PART OF YOUR MENU PLANNER!!! Pretty simple really, only choose the things you like, and only choose them for the meals in which you wish to eat them … for example, if you don’t want to be eating onions at breakfast time, then don’t choose them.
Really, I’ve been a health fiend for a long time and I have never found such an easy, flexible or creative tool at this Trim Down Club program … and no, I don’t work for them … I’m just a menopuasal woman, like I suspect a lot of you are, trying to stave off the effects of aging, and the best way to do that is to eat fresh, cut calories (which the menu planner does for you without you ever getting out the calculator) and exercise … please, keep your minds open … and instead of complaining, ask for helpful hints … we all have some to share :-)!

ParticipantI’m coming to the end of my 2nd week and have lost so far 16-lbs. I follow the menu the best I can. I do feel a frustration with the food choices in each group ex. Light cream, there has to be another fat. I’d rather see something like tsp of butter. I guess I still don’t understand the menus completely or why the weird combinations. I have selected foods like potatoes but in the 2 weeks I have not gotten one, brown rice or rice crackers seem to be consistent. One thing it has taught me is eat low fat, & carbs and fresh fruits & veggies and little to none processed foods.

ParticipantI really like the 14 day express meal plan, it’s menus read like a normal meal/day should be, why can’t the menu generator, generate meals in the same format. Tdc if your listening, please review your 14 day express menus and try to get the menu generator to generate meals the same way. For me breakfast has to be breakfast, and dinner has to b dinner, lunch I can play with, I just can’t eat steak or beans for breakfast.

MemberPatty – thanks for the input. Will do. Stay tuned…
In the meantime, all of you – please do feel free to rearrange the day as best suits you. You can also swap out foods in the same food group. Light cream = butter, whole grain crackers = potato w/skin, etc.August 24, 2012 at 10:56 am #1625pattykeogh
ParticipantThank you for your feedback, I think the frustration lies in the fact that a lot of new dieters including myself would not know what exchanges equal what, you reaffirm the fact that we can swap out, but we don’t know what an appropriate swap would be! If butter is OK, then why is it not a choice. This might be a very simple plan to a more experienced person, but keep mind that this is a whole change of life for others and not that simple.
August 24, 2012 at 11:06 am #1626Ossie-Sharon
MemberAgreed. The best place to see what exchanges would be are in the lists used to build your menu in the planner. For the most part, exchanges are very similar in size, the main exception being that 1 tsp of butter or oil is equal to a fat exchange, where others such as cream may be 1-2 Tbsp. I have forwarded your comments/requests on to our technicians.

ParticipantBonjour my friends. I just joined up because I am hopeful (thus my username) about getting back to the me I used to be. I’ve always been a muscular individual, never one of those svelt, thin women. At 55, I’m a short, muscular, but active woman, who by today’s standards, the extra weight proves to be ‘old school’ and so very unlike the contemporary woman I really am. This program is new to me, so I would love to hear from others and possibly share in my journey towards my health/weight goals.

MemberI think my weight gain is age related too, but I’ve had three cancer scares in 7 years, and I’d have to say the weight gain and health problems are caused more by the fact that I’ve been eating with a very rebellious, indestructible diabetic for that long. I have consumed more sugars and fats in 7 years than my entire family in 30.
I’ve joined to get back to a healthy life style while learning hopefully some new recipes and foods to keep things interesting. I’m going to try agave syrup after reading these posts and I’m enjoying that input as well as the menu planner.
I have kept my weight steady since I joined for the first time in 7 years!! Axed the guy along with his eating habits and am feeling MUCH better. Estrogen from eating and fluctuating weight, cortisol from stress. Not a good combination. No guy is worth dying for!
