jackie1951MemberI just finished my last Chemo treatment and I am really puffy from the steroids. Do you have any suggestions?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, jackie1951. First, congratulations! Second, you have come to the right place. What is recommended to deal with the puffiness is to avoid too many carbohydrates (especially simple carbohydrates), saturated fats, and sodium, and focus on calcium, protein, and healthy unsaturated fats – exactly what we recommend. This means using fresh, lean meats instead of fatty cuts and readymade sandwich meats, using whole grain products, plenty of fruits and especially non-starchy vegetables, nuts and seeds, and olive oil and fatty fish (salmon, tuna, mackerel, herring, sardines). If you would like more detailed information, please let me know.

jackie1951MemberThe steroids make me hungry,. I can’t seem to control my appetite. Any suggestions

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, jackie1951. The six meal plan that is our standard was actually arranged to limit hunger, so I suggest you take advantage of that. Selecting foods that have a lot of volume – water and fiber, such as vegetables and soups – can help fill you stomach, so try to make these your first course. You can also use beverages between meals and snacks to ease things – no-carbohydrate options like tea or coffee with natural sweeteners like Stevia and/or erythritol can be sipped and distract you; you may also like steeped water – see the ideas here https://www.trimdownclub.com/how-to-make-detox-water/?tdc_uid=155.
It can also help to keep yourself busy with activities that you like as much (or nearly as much) as eating, so that your mind is elsewhere.October 1, 2019 at 9:42 am #43963

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, jackie1951. Sure – just watch the portions and additives, and budget the drink into your day (i.e., swap it in for one of your snacks). You may find this article helpful: https://www.trimdownclub.com/does-alcohol-help-or-harm-your-weight-loss/.

JaniecstaleyMemberI am starting my 5th week on your diet. I love the diet and my sugar has been amazing since I have been on it. However, I am disappointed that I have only lost 3 lbs. Since I started the diet ,I have been going to the gym 3 times a week so you would think I would have lost more.
