My wife and are are happy to start this program…
but we find it difficult to eat that much food.
Per our menu planner, the carefully measured quantities (bought a new food scale)seem to be a ton to eat.
Will this program work if we cut the volume down…as long as we eat the six meals?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Thomas. That should be fine, and it is wonderful that you are not hungry and are in tune with your hunger and satiety signals. Just a few suggestions:
1. Be sure to get at least 5 total fruit+vegetable servings
2. Be sure to get plenty of calcium (if not dairy, then fortified products, deep green leafy vegetables, and Brazil nuts and almonds).
3. Eat the most when you are most active.
4. Be sure to include a protein food with any carbohydrate foods
5. If you find yourself getting very hungry later in the day, consider adding some volume back in earlier in the day.
6. Above all, be sure not to eat so little that it begins to resemble a restrictive diet, which may lower your metabolic rate and work against your efforts here.
