MemberI’ve been low-carb for years, but while I can maintain at my current weight, I can’t seem to lose the last 40-50lbs (am a size 12 and am aiming for an 8 or even a 6, depending). I don’t weigh, but rely on inches and clothing. I’ve been low-carb for years and I FEEL healthier and my labs improved greatly. I still don’t eat much in the way of bread or pasta, but when I do, I choose low-carb options or konjac pasta. I cook with a lot of nut flours (almond, pecan, coconut) for higher fiber and protein.
I am attempting this meal plan and eating smaller meals throughout the day to see if it helps, but I know eating full bread or pasta makes me feel bloated or miserable. I don’t know if it’s primarily a gluten thing or not, as testing it would require weeks of eating badly and then getting an expensive test. (I also have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, the treatment for which only works short-term and then stops for me, so I am treating via more natural methods as best I can.) I stay low-sugar because we have a family history of diabetes and my blood sugar and cholesterol is excellent because of how I eat.
What I need to know is how these lower carb foods will work within this system. I drink low-carb milk (lactose-free and low-sugar), often in combination with hemp or coconut milks. I use Healthy Life bread (and they make excellent sandwich/hamburger/hotdog buns) and Santa Fe Whole Wheat tortillas, but even these are rare. I avoid processed foods the vast majority of the time and can’t even tolerate most prepackaged items as they taste either chemical or sweet now (pesky sugar is in everything). Can I add the stats on these foods to my menu plan anywhere to have them populate in the menus?
Can I fit what I do now that makes me feel better, even if I can’t lose weight on it, into this system AND lose weight?

MemberHi, Rampant. As long as those foods are not refined or contain artificial chemicals, they will fit in just fine. For example, you can slip the konjac pasta in for the rice pasta that is in the Menu Planner lists, and those milks you mentioned are already in the lists.
