MemberFor various reasons I find it difficult to follow some of the menus given me. (time, supplies, cooking for myself and a husband who has his own ideas on food, avoiding food wastage which upset me a great deal) How can I find a list of nutritional values that I need each day, so I can substitute food at will.
Thank you
Brenda

MemberI have the same issue at times. And I also won’t eat some of the menu items (cured pork, etc. for breakfast). I just assume to substitute another protein for that item – is that correct? Eggs aren’t offered as a sub, but can I eat it as one for a meat?
Also, I’m on week 2 but I don’t see a difference in my menu. How can I be sure I’m following the right week as it doesn’t say it anywhere. I started on a Thursday.October 12, 2017 at 6:15 pm #39876Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Floyd and Eileen. I recommend that you use the personal version of the Menu Planner application, so that you can select the specific foods to into each meal – you can get to that area by clicking on “My Food Choices” in the toolbar above your current menu. There you will be guided to make optimal food choices by our color-coding system wherein the healthiest foods are listed in the lighter blue shades. If you upgrade at your own pace, you can’t go wrong.
In that same toolbar is a link to “Exchange mode,” and when you click on that, you will see the nutritional exchanges allotted to each of your meals and whole days. The exchanges roughly equal the following nutritional values:
1 carb exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat - AuthorPosts
