Hi, new here. I have a few questions about how the meal Planner works.

First, I have a fairly regular set schedule on what I have for breakfast. Is there a way for me to set a “preset breakfast” for every day of the week, or certain days of the week?

I’m starting to understand how the menu system works, but is there a way to manually create food items worth a point value? For instance… If you’re planning your meal and you want to have 8 ounces of hamburger, currently I have to add hamburger twice and select 4 ounces on each. It becomes tedious when I’m doing this for multiple meals.

Lastly and somewhat related, is there a way I can create “menu items” like others have, so that if I want to use a meal from 4 weeks ago, I can just refer back to “Recipe A” or something like that?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, hereforthepie, and welcome! If you click on the “Exchange View” button above your menu, you will see the food exchanges allotted to you per meal and day. These translate to the following approximate nutritional values:
1 carbohydrate exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat
You can compare exchanges in your meal plans with those at the ends of our recipes to use them – it doesn’t have to be a perfect match.
If you would like to build a menu from scratch, just lick on the edit tool (a pencil icon) to the upper right of each meal, then make your selections – you will be guided there by your exchanges. Once you have a meal that you like, you can repeat it as often as you like, even without fussing with the program. The foods in the master list are intentionally generic, so that you can prepare them as you wish, hopefully guided by the healthy techniques featured in our recipes.

I am a newbie, I am having trouble navigating the site. I can not move with ease from recipes to my meal plan. Each time i try I have to start from the beginning and I loose all my changes I made. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help
