Hi Ossie_Sharon. I started last Friday actually with first meals. I am using the already planned meals, but making some changes with the little pencil option. I am confused though on the option to choose own meals , I have taken down most of carbs, proteins, sweet list and etc. Am i to understand that I will need 6 carbs , 8 proteins, 5 fats, 2 sweets if i plan a meal myself each day. I am not finding that with the already planned meals. Will I be able to take from my choice list and replace items on already planned meals.

I tried to customize the menu but it seems like I am not being cost effective with my menu. For example, I made the homemade chili/beans and cut the servings down but had to freeze most of it because it is not on my plan for the rest of the week and I did not see where it could be substituted. Additionally, is anyone else seem to be cooking a lot?

Hi, GreenGirl1. You can definitely take from your choice list and replace items in the Ready-to-Go menus. Your allotted portions may vary a little from day to day, but they are generally in the area of the following:
    8 carbs, 11 proteins, 3 fats, 1 sweet, 2 fruits, and 4 vegetables
As you noted from what you posted, sometimes there is some switching around for flexibility.

Uncured meats are foods that look and taste like classic bacon, ham, and sausage, but are made with natural instead of artificial sources of the flavoring and preserving compounds – these are considered to be a less risky for your health.
To get an accurate reading of a change in weight, it is best to weigh yourself on the same scale each time.

Hi, klbharm. If you have already lowered the degree of variety and number of recipes that will appear in your menu, then the next suggestion would be to repeat meals and even whole days and weeks – this way each menu that’s generated can last for a month or more.
Cooking is recommended over buying prepared foods in this plan, so to save time, you can definitely prepare large quantities when you have time, and freeze for easy heating during the week. Beyond that, you can have meals with minimal-prep meals, such as sandwiches, frozen legumes and vegetables, etc.
