ParticipantSo, just curious if we can do a meal replacement shake instead of eating a meal. Would that totally imbalance our numbers and progress? The one that we are looking at has good numbers all the way through…even the sugars are low to nill

ParticipantI wondered about that too as I have Betty Lou’s low glycemic protein shake I like. It doesn’t have lactose, gluten, sugar & is free of hormones. The chocolate flavor isn’t bad. Yet I am getting hooked on playing with the fresh foods for meals!

MemberMeal replacement shakes are generally not recommended for more than one meal a day, and then they are best either at breakfast or at a small meal between the three major meals. It is indeed recommended that you be sure the shake is free of overly processed ingredients, bad fats, simple sugars etc.; it should provide vitamins, minerals, proteins, good fats, and ideally, a source of fiber as well.

ParticipantI drink shakeology – a meal replacement shake for breakfast. It is all natural…and I add additional whey to it.
