MemberMy son is changing his eating with me. He weighs 285 and needs to lose more weight than me. I am aiming for 30 pounds. We started the good plan today and it just dawned on me that he may need to be eating more portions than me. I made the menu for myself. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks for any advice!

MemberHi, Ruth. That’s wonderful! All I need are his height, age, and general activity level, and I can let you know his recommended relative portion sizes.

MemberHe is 5’11 and 22 years old. He is a vet assistant and is going back to school to be a vet tech. He plays disc golf once a week, but doesn’t have a regular workout schedule.

MemberJust wondering what my sons portion sizes should be, because I don’t want him to get hungary and discouraged. He needs to lose this weight for his health.

MemberHi, Ruth. Your son needs about 25% (1/4) more than you, 1/3 more on days in which he’s physically active.
