ParticipantI have never eaten vegetables for breakfast. Artichokes? Are the menus revampable or should we stay with it as is?

MemberYou can switch out fresh vegetables and fruits on the menu, i.e. from later in the day, or from your own list of favorites.
I am passing on your feedback to our technicians – thanks.August 12, 2012 at 9:43 pm #1371patti
ParticipantWhere is the menu?

MemberThe Menu Planner app (under the Apps in the horizontal menu bar) helps you build your menus. You choose the foods you want from the different categories.

ParticipantI found sprouted multi-grain, but not swg, would that be a similar substitute?
August 13, 2012 at 12:48 am #1374pattykeogh
ParticipantOops, forget last message. It’s actually whole grain.

ParticipantFor tomorrows menu, I’m supposed to eat a total of 4 eggs? Isn’t that a little excessive?
August 13, 2012 at 8:44 am #1378Ossie-Sharon
MemberWhole grain is certainly better than regular, but do be sure that it is 100% whole grain – that number can make all the difference.
As for the eggs – one or two is probably enough for the day, so feel free to substitute with other items in the same food group (i.e. for every egg: 1 ounce meat/fish/poultry, 1/2 ounce nuts or seeds, or 1/4 cup dairy).
In the meantime, I have forwarded your comments regarding multiple eggs onto our technicians.August 13, 2012 at 8:48 am #1379Ossie-Sharon
MemberSprouted multi-grain is absolutely OK for sprouted whole grain (SWG).

ParticipantI just found another quirk in my menu for tomorrow. It has me eating for my last snack 12oz yogurt. That’s a lot of yogurt, that Iprefer not to eat.

MemberIf there is too much of anything in one meal, I would suggest dividing it up throughout the day and trading out protein/carb exchanges in those other meals.

ParticipantReading about the quirks in the menu made me really laugh…I needed this Ha… Ha!! imagin 4 eggs in one day or 12oz yogurt….raw milk, ???? Participantlets say i dont have plain yogurt for breakfast. I can switch by having rice milk or almond milk?
August 16, 2012 at 7:23 am #1454Ossie-Sharon
MemberRice and almond milks are usually fortified with calcium and vitamin D to match regular dairy, so in that way they are great choices. Just keep in mind they have almost no protein, and so it is highly recommended to compensate for that with accompanying foods at breakfast – it is a very important meal protein-wise, to prevent overeating later in the day and even fatigue. Note that oat milk does have some protein (about half the content of dairy milk).
