MemberI wonder about the recipes provided, some of which are highlighted in blue onthe menu planner. Many say 4-8 servings–that doesn’t nail it down very much to determine how much I should eat and how much my husband should eat. Also, many of the recipes don’t give a serving size at all.

MemberSince I am required to put in my height, weight, age etc I assume that this information is used to develop the correct intake of foods for me to lose some weight. For me the menus are not usable unless I plan on cooking all day and what do I do with all the leftovers after I’ve taken my half cup from an eight serving portion. I certainly agree on the ground rules for food choices but how do I by pass the menu planner while incorporating the right quantity of food.

MemberHi, Terry. As a rule of thumb, most suggested serving sizes are 1/2-1 cup, depending on what else you are eating at the same time. The Menu Planner will work out how much best fits into your recommended daily plan.

Memberjust joined yesterday and already wondering if it was a mistake and waste of money. I live in the US not the UK.I shouldn’t have to shop on line and have foods sent from another country to be on this diet. Your team should do research for American markets that cans be used instead. Also when reading a snack menu do u eat all items listed or choose just one? Seems to me this kind of info should come before the menu planning stage.

MemberI am so lost… just joined and thought from the caption video that they would take normal everyday foods and show us how to balance them out so you get the right ratio of protein and carbs. had no idea I would have to use special foods, recipes, ect..What is SWG?

MemberI quite agree with these comments.I felt so positive when I watched your sales pitch and was looking forward to a new eating plan with the right combination of foods I like instead it looks as though someone is making a comedy sketch. The combinations of food are wierd. The recipes give ingredients in Imperial and American weights and capacities.Half the foods mentioned I have never heard of and are not available where I live.Ihave spent two full days trying to understand your programme and am still no nearer sorting out my shopping list so that I can actually start the plan.I will eventually try 1 weeks menu andhope that it is worth the effort.

MemberPlease can you confirm that Snack 1 on Day 1 of the Express 14-Day Meal Plan is half a cup of Almonds and not half an ounce as all the other nuts are?

MemberI am finding the menu plan really easy. But I have come to a small hitch…one of my items is 1 cup eggplant, and the only substitute for it is half a cup of red sauce.I am wondering if there is anything else I can substitute instead of the sauce?

MemberHi, Seaborn. A cup of any non-starchy vegetable is an acceptable swap for the cup of eggplant.

MemberRegarding foods in the Menu Planner:
The program was originally based on foods found in all countries; true the original model was American, but it has been checked to ensure people from most western countries can manage. For people in the US, Canada, and UK, Whole Foods Market has chains, and their stores carry everything but raw dairy, which generally is special-order anyway (and organic dairy is considered an acceptable substitution).
Note also that the Menu Planner has been expanded to include regular foods, with which you can build your menu. However, since some of the perhaps less familiar foods have been linked to improvements in metabolic balance – which provide a boost to weight loss and management – it is recommended that you at least try incorporating some of them into your daily habits. Some are becoming popular enough that they are entering regular grocery stores, i.e. some sprouted whole grain (SWG) breads.
Basically, if you choose whole foods rich in nutrients/fiber, and apply good food prep methods, you can carry out the intent of the program.January 7, 2013 at 10:12 pm #5150Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, SandyWig. The amount of the snack depends on how the other meals worked out. If you had lots of proteins left over then the snack was enlarged. If it is too much, you can swap out part of it with another protein, i.e. a glass of milk.

MemberHi, AsiaRays. Try Whole Foods Market, Trader Joes, and/or New Leaf Market for the foods.
As for the menus, it is intended for you to eat all the foods listed. - AuthorPosts
