MemberI am a little confused by the menu I created with my foods we like. for instance it says : 1 ounce of Poultry, Ham, Uncured. okay do they mean lunch meat? Or a slab of ham or chicken and what is uncured? Some of the menus just don’t even seem like meals to me.. just odd stuff thrown together.

MemberHi, Lisaanddave. That refers to lunch meat, but it can be whatever you want. The menus are intended to be generic-looking lists of foods to give you the freedom to prepare them however you want. In looking over your current menu, I see a combination of chicken, sweet potato, and green vegetables of your choice – you can cook these however you want, and are encouraged to use seasonings as much as possible; another example has pork chops, beans, and again vegetables – here you can make pork and beans with a side salad or pork chops plus salad with plain beans as one of the vegetables. Yet another option is to click on “Exchange mode” (in the toolbar above the menu) and make swaps based on exchanges (see the list here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists); you will see that for the pork and beans example, you can split those exchanges and have a third ounce of pork chop with 1/2 cup of rice, pasta, potato, corn, whatever starchy side you like.

Memberthanks that cleared that up. My other question, is how to modify the menu more. I would put cereal every morning as a breakfast food, but don’t see that choice. I do see where I need to be eating more often and those “in-between” meals should be more balanced- and thought out. not just snacking which could be why I feel sluggish around 3 pm.

MemberHi, LisaandDave. Wherever you see a starchy item in your breakfast meal, you can click on it to swap it out for cereal. You can repeat that same breakfast each day, and just ignore what is listed for other days.
