Sue3
MemberHi
My name is Sue I am 65 years old and live in Wales in the UK. I am 5ft 2ins and weighed 199lbs. I am desperate to loose weight. I have tried the Atkins diet which I found to be the best diet I have ever tried I lost 49lbs but of course once I came off the diet I started to gain weight again. I have been following this diet now for 4 weeks this is my 5th. I must admit I have found it very hard to eat 6 times a day also very awkward as I look after my 93 year old mother plus I have 2 young grandchildren to look after as my daughter is now single and has to work. So I can not always be at home cooking meals. This week I have become very frustrated as for the last 2 weeks my menu planner has planned meals from Monday through to Friday each day is exactly the same this i can not deal with. I would very much like to be able to plan my own menus but need to know how many proteins, carbs, & fats I am allowed in a day or even for each meal I have to eat. Any help in this matter I would welcome. By the way I forgot to mention I have lost 8lbs in the 4 weeks with 3lbs in the first week.February 13, 2013 at 3:14 am #8894tmeade
MemberHi Sue
My name is Tracey and I am a 45 year old mother of twins here in the US.
I just started in the program this week, so no progress to report at this point. I have noticed that there are 2 arrows that forma sort of circle just to the right of the menu item for each meal. If you click on this little icon a small pop up window appears with replacement food for the item selected. This may help you when the menu app generates the same items over and over.
Please let me know if this is helpful, or if you don’t understand my description.February 13, 2013 at 7:11 pm #8924Sue3
MemberHi treadle
Yes I did know about it but most of the time the alternatives are something that I do not like. That is why I would like to generate my own menus but need ratios of proteins fats & carbs. At the moment I am trying to use the Friday to cover the Tuesday then that will leave me with Wednesday ,Thursday & Friday I am not sure if I can use Saturday and Sunday again as that would work for me then it would not be so repetitive but do not know if that would change the health percentage as the generated menu came to 78% I just wonder if that would lesson if I use my other 2 days.February 13, 2013 at 7:15 pm #8925Sue3

MemberSue, my suggestion, along with the breadown sandrae gave you, is to not choose any meals in the recipes until you have the time to do so. I would just pick single whole food items and canned items. It’s as quick as opening a can and maybe heating something up. I usually throw most of the whole food/can items together in the pan and it’s a nice warming meal, especially if it’s cold outside like here in New Hampshire, USA. Good luck; KD

MemberHi patty pool I was feeling very negative myself with all these meals as well as my live is also very busy not always at home but I must say I have been on this diet for 6 weeks now and I have managed to loose 12lbs all my friends said you will never loose weight eating all that well I have proved them wrong. But somedays I have had to loose one of the meals usually the lunch or the dinner but I do try and eat the 6 so don’t give up yet. Best of luck

MemberHi, PattyPool. Were your menus EXACTLY the same for 4 days? Did you select more than the minimum number of items in each category in the Menu Planner? Did you select lower fat foods?
I am asking to try to figure out how to ask tech support what the solution might be.February 24, 2013 at 7:03 pm #9344pattypool

MemberHi folks I am here to offer encouragemnet not knowledge! I started this life changing process Sat Feb 26th and I feel awesome! No one here has mentioned anything about excercise! I have been trying to walk 1/2 hr per day briskly and as I’m walking take note of all the beauty around me.
My biggest advice is to always have fresh vegetables/fruits/nuts in a tupperware resealble container and always be snacking. I have lost 2 pounds but more importantly have changed my mindset to know that this is not a diet but a lifestyle change that I will continue for my whole life!Chris
