MemberHi, Nicola. Coffee and tea themselves are “free,” so you don’t need to count them in your menu, but if you have more than 1/4 cup (60 ml) of milk per day, you will want to be sure to select milk to go into your menu. Alcohol is fine, but again, be sure to count it. If you visit the personal Menu Planner application and review the food lists, you will see these items. We would, of course, encourage a minimal amount of alcohol overall, because it can add up without giving your body a lot of nutrition in return (especially if sugary). Other options beyond a glass of wine would be soda water (or even tonic water) with twists of citrus.

MemberThanks for your response Ossie, much appreciated. Could you also clarify if diet drinks are allowed or are these off limits, for example, instead of having alcohol when out can I choose Diet Coke instead as my usual drink would be a Bacardie with Diet Coke. 🙂 Thanks Nicola

MemberHi, Nicola. We’re not crazy about diet drinks, because artificial sweeteners may work against your efforts here. However, if drinking them means cutting down on rum, it’s a great option.
