MemberHi, chrisless. Wholemeal products can be excellent – just read the label to be sure it is truly wholemeal and does not contain refined flour in the mix. Another excellent type of bread is sprouted wheat.

MemberHi chrisless,Ossie-Sharon, I am a newbie just got my first weeks menu plan and shopping list 3 days ago. i went out and started shopping (my list is about 2 1/2 pgs) I can see these type items SWB or SWG products are pretty expensive. if i stick to the whole grain breads and nvever get to try the SWG products will I be o.k.? also if this list is just for my first week menu what will the next ones look like?
Next question for Ossie-Sharon-how and when do i get my continuing menu plans? i can’t see using this first one over and over.August 1, 2013 at 7:17 am #13727Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Tdulong, and welcome. 100% whole grain brain is just fine (be sure it either states that number, or when you look at the ingredients there are no flours that are not “whole”).
Regarding menus, you can go through the same Menu Planner process each week, or if you want to use the same foods each week, just go straight to the “Snacks” tab, scroll down to the bottom, and click on “Finish” – you will get a new set of daily menus.August 2, 2013 at 4:16 pm #13755goalforit123

MemberHi, goalforit123. Check out these sites for some UK brand names for products, including sprouted grain breads http://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-uk/. Note that some of the foods in the planner seem foreign to many people, which is part of their advantage – they are less mass-produced and so less manipulated, and therefore more nutritious and supportive of weight loss. Many are just upgrades of common foods, such as grains and breads.
