I believe I am having allergic reations to MSG and would like to know of anyone else who has experienced this. I am also spending the next two weeks eliminating wheat from my diet after obtaining the book Wheat Belly. Anyone have any comments on these two subjects?
Thanks!
Hi,I’llBeFitat50. Most product labels will state whether or not the item contains MSG, so by all means steer clear. This program encourages only unprocessed foods, which are free from added MSG.
Regarding “Wheat Belly,” not that this does not refer to the majority of people. Eliminating foods makes diets harder to follow and can result in use of processed foods and elimination of important nutrients. Many people have issues with bellies from excessive intake of carbohydrates, and this program is relatively low in available carbs, so no worries there.
If you are concerned that you have a clinical problem with wheat, you can be tested for that – just contact your healthcare provider.
