MemberI am having a problem following the menus completely because of my work/sleep schedule. I have lost 4 pounds in the first week, so am very happy with that. I have some health issues that are aggravated by being overweight, so I am more motivated to lose. I may get in all the snacks, but usually end up having only breakfast and dinner. How important is it to stick to the breakfast/snack/lunch/snack/dinner/snack order of foods? I am also having problems finding all the natural and organic items on the menu. I tweak the menu a lot and try to eat less processed foods, but they are hard to find in my area….and if I do find them, they are very expensive…so it’s hard to stick to the menu exactly. I do love the fact that this website plans the menus, suggests substitutions, lets me tweak it and then puts together a shopping list for me. I got tired of that part as I have been “playing” at dieting for probably the past 15 or so years. I am glad I found this website and want to stick more closely to what it suggests.

MemberHi, barrtu, and congratulations on your weight loss. I hope it continues and that you start to feel better overall. Regarding skipping meals, that all depends on what your medical conditions are, and what the reason(s) were for your weight gain in the first place. Skipping meals is often a reason for weight troubles, though a few people people manage to keep a sound weight eating the two meals you described. Regarding the conditions, it is generally not recommended for diabetics to eat less than three meals per day. One option that we suggest to people with work schedules that don’t allow much eating is to drink the meals by preparing hearty soups and drinks (i.e. shakes/smoothies, etc.) and taking them along in thermoses. We have a few recipes for this – http://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe_type/soups/ and http://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe_type/drinks/.
Regarding expensive foods, don’t worry about it – just try to eat whole unprocessed, unrefined foods, and you’ll be getting most of the benefit. - AuthorPosts
