MemberOssie, or whom it may concern;
I am being very patient with my weekly loss/gains and have actually lost 9.2 lb. from 1/28/13 up to today, 4/8/13 (10 weeks on diet plan.) This past week was no gain/no loss (a little discouraging.) I’m sure that this must be ok, but should I perhaps be losing a bit more than this on a weekly/monthly basis? As long as the trend is a losing one I’m fine with it. Just wondering. Just in this past week I have been feeling that I am gaining a lot more strength and ability. I feel as though I can tackle more now than I thought I could (with my arthritic knees and hands and all.) This is encouraging. Just looking for your input. MemberHi, pasjj5. Wow! Congratulations!! That is a great rate for healthy, long-term weight loss. Remember: fast is fun, but slow is best in the long run.
Keep in mind that plateaus are a very normal, frequent part of dieting, and ironically may be a sign that your body is in better shape than it was. For example, it might not see exercise as straining as it once – as corroborated by you feeling more greater strength and ability – and so you’re burning less energy. More than that, you could be gaining heavy muscle, which takes the place of lighter but bulkier fat.
The best remedy is to try to find a new exercise that works a new muscle – there are so many in the body, that hopefully it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. Or take advantage of your greater strength and add duration and/or intensity to what you are doing now. Above all, patience! It will pass. - AuthorPosts
