MemberI just joined yesterday. There seems to be a good deal of planning and shopping involved here, but I am retired and desperate to get healthy so I just have to do it. I have been so discouraged because plans I have tried before have not worked for me. Even though I have been rigorous in following the plans (the Zone, low glycemic, and other such diets) I don’t lose weight. I do not have any rare, mysterious disease or condition that would explain this. I just have not been able to lose weight. I have insulin resistance because I am overweight. My endocrinologist says it will go away if I lose the weight. I guess I have become lazy and unmotivated, because nothing seems to work for me. So then I just fall back on easy eating and that is no good. I realize this will take time. I hope this forum will help me stick to this plan.

MemberI am about to end of my second week. I have struggled all week with my week 2 diet plan. I fell off my diet totally yesterday because I was so frustrated. there are 2 days with exact same menu. my stomach is really bothering me from the nuts. once a week I could proably get by with. also can not drink a glass of milk. I am lactose intolerant unless it is cooked in something. don’t mean to sound ungrateful. my first week menu was better for me. more simple at lunch time? the first week I didn’t crave sugars at all. this week is so hard to walk away from them.

MemberHi, bse64. I suggest you try using the fully personal version of the Menu Planner, so that you can select the foods that work for you, and avoid the ones that don’t. You can access it by clicking on the “My Food Choices” icon (an apple) in the toolbar above your menu. Once you get your menu, you can skip days as you wish. If you crave sweets, be sure to select sweets to get something each day worked into your menu.

MemberHi, burmay. Do take advantage of the search function in our Recipes sesction – type in terms like “simple,” “easy,” “basic,” “quick,” etc.
