MemberI am also new to program……….when you have snack time, must you eat everything on the list?
May 28, 2013 at 11:43 am #12041Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, eejrirvin, and welcome. The intention is for you to eat everything posted in the menu, including for snacks. Sometimes the morning snack is much larger than the afternoon snack, so you can move some items to later to balance them out. The goal is to keep a steady flow of energy and avoid hunger.

MemberHi , I am brand don’t understand where to start ?

MemberHi, Boolie, and welcome. The best place to start is by reading the program overview (in My Downloads, above). Then complete your profile and get into the Menu Planner application to start building your weekly menus. Start with foods familiar to you and that you have on hand, and gradually swap some out for healthier versions; try new foods once in a while. Continue reading through the site materials, and see if you can find exercise that you can incorporate into your daily/weekly routine. If you need help along the way, you can post here in the community, or if you want private and individualized care, you can use the Dietitian Online service.

MemberI’m new to the program too and I am just following the menu provided BUT… I do not know how to go straight to the menu that has been prepared for me when I am trying to see what to eat for the next meal I do not want to print. I want to access the menu using the website. Seems everytime I log on I have to go through all the steps to finally get to the menu for the week. Each time I do that, it creates a menu again. I’m so confused. Not finding the website very user friendly. I would also like to see how many carbs, fats, proteins the menu that has been made for me contains. I’m usually pretty savy navigating websites but this one seems difficult.

MemberI joined last night…it seemed like a great program but I am very disappointed with the menu planner, which was the big attraction for me. I don’t live in or near a big city where many of the “healthy choices” or ingredients can be found other than fruits and vegetables. Availability of organic or free range food is limited as well. So my planner tells me to eat 20 pretzels with a cup of sweet potato, etc…even the substitute choices aren’t realistic…who eats like that? I’m also finding way more “breads” in these menus than I’m accustomed to eating. Today, without using this menu planner I had 4 servings of fruit and 3 servings of veggies. Protein from eggs, tuna, turkey bacon and cheese. Good fats from avocado and olive oil. Lettuces, spinach, scallion, radishes from my garden for salad. I had no bread whatsoever. I had six tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole as one snack, and fruit for the others. I was really hoping to us this app so I don’t constantly have to be thinking about what I should or shouldn’t eat.

MemberHi, Boolie. The following is the link from which you can download the program overview and Quick Start Guide http://www.trimdownclub.com/product/trimdownclub-program/.
The Menu Planner is available under “Apps” above.May 30, 2013 at 12:10 pm #12119Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, chewthru. I have forwarded your inquiry to our tech support team to see what might have happened.
The intention is definitely for the Menu Planner to do the work for you. You don’t have to dive into all the new foods listed – many regular foods are also included, to accommodate all budgets and geographic locationsd, and there is nothing wrong with choosing what is best for you and going with the dietary principles you mentioned. This program is actually overall quite low in carbs, only 40-45% of energy (compared to 50-65% in most regular meal plans). The breads, etc. that we recommend are those highest in fiber, so the metabolic impact is lower.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to post here. If you wish, you are welcome to post your age, height, and weight, along with a sample day’s menu, and I can take a look for you.May 31, 2013 at 5:27 am #12131Lorijoan
MemberI was struggling with the choices too especially the exchanges in the menu planning app. Today was better than yesterday but yesterday even though I followed the plan big time I ended up bloated, with a lot of heartburn and constipation. Possibly the constipation could be related to the day before when I went for a cup of peanuts that wasn’t on the plan??!!

MemberHi, LoriJoan. It could very well be that your body is not used to so much fiber. It is not uncommon when getting into a new way of eating that this happens. I suggest to cut back on the fiber for now: eat less high-fiber foods, and gradually introduce upgrades into your diet a little at a time each week. Remember also to drink a full glass of fluid (8 fluid ounces or 240 ml), preferably water or similar, with each meal that contains a significant amount of fiber (5 grams or more).
Also pay attention to foods that you used to eat in small amounts, but are now eating more of.May 31, 2013 at 2:57 pm #12135Jenn044
MemberHi I just joined yesterday and I liked the idea that I gives you a plan to follow and you can eat what you want..I am a very picky eater so when I got to the meal planning I was a little bummed basically I have to eat the sme thing every day..also a lot of the choices said “naturals” is that a brand..like the turkey sausage can I eat any turkey sausage or does it have to be a specific kind?? I don’t like foods with strange textures, grains, dont eat nuts and I think a lot of the food on here consists of it in some way..Help!!
