simeoliMemberHello, I thought this healthy eating plan sounded good so joined but it is obviously not meant for us in the UK. Most of the things in the recipes we cannot get in this country nor have ever heard of. You need to cater for the British market!! Also does one cup of whatever “cooked” mean one cup cooked or one cup raw.

VanessaMichaelsMemberTry and bear with it, I am in the UK, joined 3 weeks ago and it is working well for me. I have spent a lot of time in the US and understand what some of the alternatives are. When you come across something unusual, just try and work out what the nearest thing to it would be in the UK e.g Granola = Muesli, and use Tofu instead of Edamame etc. Just ask for ideas. Everyone sounds very helpful.

VanessaMichaelsMemberUk people dont give up!! I think it is a much better option that weight watchers, sliming club or Atkins, I have tried them all. This is really working for me as I am too busy to go to clubs and counting things and working out ‘colour days’ does my head in.
This is much better in the long run. Try using the menu planner, it is a really cool idea. Just put in the things you can buy and delete the things we can’t get here and let the computer do the rest! cool!June 29, 2014 at 9:48 pm #21224
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, UK users. Try this resource here for where to buy the foods: http://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-uk. The foods are from around the world but lesser known because they are less mass-produced – that is their advantage, because they are less manipulated and so more nutritious and supportive of healthy weight management.

SalhartMemberHi kknaup I’m going to weigh in on Friday too.
This is new to me. I’ve been dieting for a number of years now, and really need help so I can get off of my diebetes meds. I’m a stress eater and have had a LOT of that recently, with my husband having two major surgeries since October, my carpal tunnel surgeries three months ago..(but doesn’t it figure I didn’t have any trouble bending my elbow to my mouth! Then four days ago, my mother died ag age 94. I’m a mess and need to get back into good health again. And I’m not good with the computer either. What does that box that says Tags: mean? Any help you can give me will help. Thanks.July 1, 2014 at 11:19 pm #21285
SalhartMemberReading the above messages I feel that I am going to be okay with this. It isn’t a diet,as we know diets, it’s a way of understanding how food can benefit us, I get that. Wish me luck. My dog Super Jane needs more exercise… that will also help me. There is nothing cute about a fat Chihuahua. LOL.

SalhartMemberHi Simeoli, please don’t give up. Remember: There is always a way.
If you don’t know what a food is, type in the name of the food in your search engine and it will let you know what it is. It may even give you a picture of the food and you can match it with one you know. I know living in the US, some of the other foods around the world are called something different, but we can buy something as close to the one in the recipe as possible. Also check with your organic food stores, they are very helpful… pretty smart cookies… I had to say cookie didn’t I? I’ll go wash my mouth out right now.July 2, 2014 at 8:20 am #21292
