MemberI joined today and I must say some of the foods are hard to find. But I am substituting for now and it’s working. I spent all day on developing menus and shopping for tomorrow. I am taking it slow and just trying not to fret too much. So, this is a low fat, low carb way of eating basically? I find it hard to excercise right now. I feel sluggish. I need to lose 25 pounds. I did print my weekly menu and a grocery list. I am doing this one day at a time.

MemberI just joined yesterday and am very excited. I have done EVERY single diet that is known to mankind and have lost a total of over 300 lbs. in my lifetime. Sadly now my weight is equivalent to what I have lost over the last 30 years and I’m disgusted with the way I look and feel. This plan makes sense and appears to be very user friendly. Wish me luck. I’m tired of making excuses that I’m too old or too fat to live a healthy lifestyle and I want to be happy and love myself again.

MemberI just joined and I am finding this a bit overwhelming. I’ve tried every diet known and I am heavier than ever. very discouraging. I like that it includes all food groups. I’m not sure how I am going to measure and weigh everything.

MemberI started this Monday. Can I substitute one dinner on one day for another if I don’t have all the ingredients?

KeymasterHi, ipatty, and welcome! Keep in mind that you only need to measure things the first time so you get an idea of how it looks. You can then use common references/comparisons to eyeball your portions – the best is usually the size and thickness of the palm of your hand or your fist.

MemberThank you for your response. Another question… I’m finding I’m stuffed after some meals and can’t eat it all. Today’s snack #1 was a slice of Whole Grain, Free Spread, Edamame, & Watermelon. I was too stuffed to eat the bread and spread, so I used it at lunch with my tuna. Is this o.k. to move the items out further in the day, but still be done by an appropriate time before bed? Or just skip them?

MemberHi, Monica. Don’t fight it – it’s great that you’re in tune with your satiety signals. Your way of dealing with it was excellent – just be sure not to load up on too much toward the very end of the day. You can also skip part of the snacks – general the carbs may be best for you to skip.

MemberHello! I just signed up today and figured out my weekly menu. It sure does sound like a lot of food. I’m going to take it slow and am excited to see results. Do food selection change the further in the program you are or will they stay the same?

MemberHi, socherry, and welcome! Indeed, at a later stage, you are encouraged to start using the Menu Planner application, in which you select the foods you want in your menu each week. Note: you can also leave the selections the same if you wish to repeat days or weeks.
