MemberI was just wondering if I will still lose weight even if my meal plan is at 69% healthy?

MemberHi, Kyla. You may indeed. You can still benefit from the portion size, food combining, and timing features of the plan.

MemberHi…New member. I’m 75 yrs, 163 lbs, 5′-4″. My goal is 145 lbs. with more energy and feelings of well-being. I have never known how much protein I should be getting. Maintaining as much muscle mass as possible is important as I age. Have never been much of an exerciser. I must walk with a walker because of balance issues, so I could use a treadmill or elliptical stepper. How much time would you recommend and how many days a week? Looking forward to your input. Thanks

MemberHi, Joan, and welcome. We suggest doing about 30-60 minutes per day, 4 or more days per week. However, if you have been largely inactive, do work your way up to that.

MemberHi Ossie,
I don’t have a food scale at home so I have just been guessing at the portion size of meats, and fish. Is there a way of, say, measuring the size of the piece of meat to estimate how many ounces it is? For example, a piece of chicken 1 inch x 2 inches x 1/2 inch = 1 ounce. Can you do that? Thank you. Oh, by the way, the recipes I’ve tried from the TDC have been to die for! Kudos to the creators.:)

MemberHi, SkinnyAstrid. It looks like you’re on the right track, and that really is a good way to do things. A 4-ounce piece of protein (meats, tofu, etc) is about the size/thickness of the palm of your hand, 1 ounce of cheese is about the size of a matchbook, and 6 ounces of dairy (yogurt or soft cheese) is about the size of your fist.

MemberYay! Thank you Ossie. Oh, in regards to the meats, is this the size before you cook it or after?

MemberHi, SkinnyAstrid. You are most welcome! The meat portion is before.

MemberHi
I currently use sweetened soya milk instead of much dairy but I read that you say soya is bad. Can someone tell me if soya milk is ok ?thanksJanuary 26, 2014 at 9:19 pm #17662Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Jogill. Please just make sure it’s organic and doesn’t use artificial sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup, saccharin, aspartame, etc.
